I grew up speaking two languages. From an early age, I experienced how language is about much more than knowing the right words. It is also about expressing yourself, connecting with others and feeling understood. Language has been a common thread throughout my life and career.

The medical world is also familiar territory. I come from a family where generations have worked in healthcare. Specialising in language training for healthcare professionals therefore feels like a natural connection between two worlds that have always been close to my heart.

After starting out in journalism, I studied French language and literature at the University of Amsterdam and in Angers. I then worked internationally in sales and marketing for companies including Warner Brothers and Walt Disney. Across these different environments, I discovered how important it is to communicate clearly and adapt to the person you are speaking with.

Since 2011, I have been helping international dentists, doctors and other healthcare professionals learn medical Dutch. Whether you are preparing for BIG registration, want to explain treatments more clearly or would like to communicate more comfortably with colleagues, the training is tailored to your work, language level and professional goals.

You already have the professional expertise. My role is to help you communicate that expertise clearly, naturally and confidently in Dutch. That is why we work with familiar situations from everyday practice: from discussing a treatment plan and reassuring a patient to writing clinical notes and consulting with colleagues.

This helps you explain treatments more clearly and makes them easier for patients to understand. It builds trust with patients and colleagues, while helping you feel more confident and fulfilled in your work. My goal is to help you be the professional you already are, in Dutch too.

Curious about what language training could offer you or your organisation? I would be happy to explore the possibilities with you.
